Day 5 PICOS & PEAKS OF SPAIN

Day 5 

From: Villa de de Bierzo (Castellon Leon)

To:  Villa Gloria ( Cantabria)

We left the sweet little pilgram town and made our way deep into the Spanish Alps. We were the only ones on the lonely 2 lane road, except for some light rain drizzling above us. The peaks of the Alps still had snow on them, the valleys and mountainside lush with so many shades of green.

We stopped at a small village with only 6 buildings.It was in the middle of nowhere. Not another building either way for at least 80KM. It was a mountain lodge. We thought we would be the only ones. Inside this lodge of 20 rooms, ( Hotel Gloria) it was beaming with people. One table alone for dinner was over 20 people!

Once the rain stopped Bob and I took a lovely walk along a mountain trail. Again we were the only ones ..... No internet, no wifi, no phones... away from the world. A wonderful stop in the valley of the mountains.
